Damian is my cerebral, hunky gargoyle in the Wolf's Bane novels. He's patient and kind, so other characters often get to overshadow him, and he doesn't mind. He likes to stay in the background. The books are told from Reece's point of view, so it's harder to get to know Damian. That's why I decided to dedicate a short story just to him. Hope you like it. Damian's Story is in the the left column.

I post a blog about writing every week, and I enjoy sharing what I've learned and what I've done wrong. The last two weeks, though, I've had guest writers share their information and experiences. Each writer comes to the craft at different angles and perspectives, so it's fun for me to see how they approach it. If you're interested, M L Rigdon-who writes Regency romances as Julia Donner-did a question and answer for me this week, and Susan Bahr, who writes Young Adult, shared with me the week before. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.
http://writingmusings.com/ I just wanted to let you know that, since I put Magicks Uncaged online, I made Wolf's Bane 99 cents and Shadow Demon free from May 21-25. And since Bull plays a part in all three books, I posted his short story for free in the column at the left. It tells how Bull became a werewolf and joined Wedge's pack. I have a soft spot for Bull. Hope you enjoy his story. I meant to wait and post it on the 31st, but I couldn't wait. I'll post something new for the 31st.
Since Magicks Uncaged is online now, I went back to work on the romance I'd started earlier. I like the characters so much, I'm having fun writing it. I started another short-short Wolf's Bane story, too. I already did one for the webpage: Predator and Prey. It featured Wedge and Bull, both werewolves in Bay City's pack. And I did a round table discussion to give a little more background on Damian--the gargoyle, Hecate--the witch, and Wedge--the youngest of the three. He's only a few centuries old. The story I'm working on now features Bull, Wedge's second in command. I've gotten more fond of Bull in every Wolf's Bane story I write, so I thought he deserved a little more attention. I plan to post the story on May 31. My goal is to post a new story on the last Sunday of each month.
Happy dance for me! My third Wolf's Bane novel, Magicks Uncaged, went online today! The first chapter is in the list at the left, if you're interested. I love the cover Michael Prete created!! Reece is a really nice witch, but she makes one formidable adversary. And she doesn't have to battle the cruel mage/vampire, Morpheus, alone. Her mate, a gargoyle, and Bay City's werewolf pack join her.
Okay, confession time. I fully intend to play for the rest of this week. My husband and I are driving to Magee Marsh in Ohio tomorrow to look for warblers. Don't ask. We're not really birders. We just LIKE birds, and this is when warblers are supposed to stop at the marsh to rest before they trek across Lake Eerie on their migration route. A few have already shown up at our local wetlands on their long journey. Hope we see some pretty ones tomorrow. Then on Friday, I need to clean the house and work in the yard. My grandson's stopping by Saturday on his way to his summer internship in Detroit. The family's gathering for supper here to see him before he takes off. A different kind of migration. I'll be cooking on Saturday and catching up with everyone. Then on Sunday, I write my weekly blog and hang out with the Old Poop. I won't be a serious writer again until Monday. And I feel a tiny bit guilty, so I pounded out a VERY short vignette today to let readers understand why Manette (in the Babet and Prosper series) has down-turned lips and a definite attitude. Warning. My husband read this and was surprised. Maybe shocked. It's not the usual. Anyway, it's in the left column: Manette's Story.
I hope to have my third novel in the Wolf's Bane series up soon, so I thought I'd add samples of the beginning chapters of each book for you. I've loaded the first chapter of Wolf's Bane to the column at the left, and the first two chapters of Shadow Demon--the 2nd book in the series. And finally, the first chapter of Magicks Uncaged, the new novel due out soon. Hope you enjoy them!
