I had tons of phone calls this morning--all from people I love to hear from. So, all good. But I'm getting to my computer late. And today's Thursday, the day I usually post something on this webpage, so I'm behind. Boo. Hiss. What is it about each week? It accumulates speed like a snowball accumulates weight. It goes faster and faster. But I can handle that.
Except...when I looked at my e-mails, my publisher sent me the date for the cover reveal of book 5--on next Wednesday, Jan. 11th. Hooray! And I love the cover!!
But...I've been waiting for the cover reveal of book 4, so that I could share it here and on my blog. And I realized, I must have missed the entire thing. How in heck did I miss the reveal for SPICING THINGS UP? When did it happen? And where was I?
Sigh.
So...I'm sharing the reveal for book 4 now. Late. Very late. And soon, I'll share the reveal for the cover for book 5. Because I screwed up. And I hope it wasn't a Freudian slip, because to me, Tyne doesn't look like Tyne on the cover and Daphne doesn't look like Daphne. But it's almost impossible for a design person to see what's in my cranium--and that's probably a good thing! But I'm not going to fuss about that, because I LOVED book 4.
When I wrote urban fantasies, I wrote them from a single POV--the female protagonist's. And when I switched to romances, I took that habit with me. But I'm not a big enough or famous enough writer to get buried under reviews, so I read every single one of them that a reader writes--the good, the bad, and the ugly.. And I think about them. And I noticed that readers WANTED and MISSED the guy's POV. I'd studied what other writers did when they wrote romances, but I'd overlooked that. And I realized how much difference that would make in a romance, since it's all about what characters are thinkiing and feeling. So my romance #4 is the first time I wrote the story from both the guy and the girl's POV, and I think it made the romances SO much better! (Not that my first three romances weren't lots of fun for me to write). Anyway, I've yapped on long enough. Here's the cover for Book 4 with Tyne and Daphne. You met them in book 3, and Tyne's just one of those characters who DEMANDED to be awesome on the page! Hope you enjoy!
